On March 3, 2020, in Colibasi village, Cahul rayon, took place the official inauguration of sub-projects "Civil works at kindergarten no.1 "Gr. Vieru" and no.2 "Ghiocel"".
The event was attended by:
• His Excellency, German Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Angela Ganninger,
• His Excellency, Romanian Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Daniel Ionita,
• The representative of the German KFW Bank in Moldova, Sergiu Gutu,
• Mayor of Colibasi village, Ion Dolganiuc,
• PI Moldova Social Investment Fund Director, Iurie Chiorescu,
• Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Ion Groza,
• The Head of the General Directorate of Education of Cahul town, Valeriu Baban,
• Inhabitants of Colibasi village.
Over the 2015-2019 period, kindergartens no.1 "Gr. Vieru" and no.2 "Ghiocel" benefited from financial support in a total amount of 2,171,234,20 lei within the Program of technical and financial assistance granted by the Government Romania for pre-school institutions in the Republic of Moldova for the execution of interior civil works: replacing windows and doors, renovating bathroom units, repairing works in group rooms; construction of treatment plants, costruction of pavilions on the playground; procurement of goods: furniture for group rooms, equipment for kitchen and household purposes.
Later, in 2018, following the competition held, the above-mentioned kindergartens became part of the "Social infrastructure and energy efficiency" Program, Phase II, in the context of German Financial Cooperation with the Republic of Moldova funded by the German Development Bank "Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau" (KfW), and obtained the investment of 1 458 233 MDL for the reconstruction of the roof framework at both kindergartens, carring out the thermal insulation of facades and some interior works.

Sub-project details:
1) Sub-projects carried out within the Program of technical and financial assistance granted by the Government of Romania for the Republic of Moldova:
- The total cost of the subproject: 3 187 592.89 MDL,
- Contribution of the Government of Romania: 2,171,234.20 MDL,
- Local contribution: 863 239.18 MDL;
- Period of implementation of projects: April 2015 - August 2019.
2) The sub-project realized within the "Social infrastructure and energy efficiency" Program (KfW source):
- The total cost of the sub-project: 2 878 851 MDL / 148 148 EUR,
- Contribution of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany: MDL 1 458 233 / EUR 75 000,
- Local contribution: 1 420 618 MDL / 73 065 EUR,
- Project period: March - November 2019.
The implementation of these projects presents an example of synergy of different sources of funding that have a noble and common purpose, thatessentially contributes to the improvement of conditions of early education of children in the rural localities of the republic.
