Thursday, June 1, 2017, the Deputy Head of the German Embassy in Moldova, Florian Seitz, the representative of the German KfW Bank in Moldova, Sergiu Guţu, and the Executive Director of MSIF, Mircea Esanu, attended the inauguration of the "Luceafărul" kindergarten in Donduşeni town, renovated with financial support from Germany, within the framework of the "Social Infrastructure and Energy Efficiency" Project, managed by MSIF.
The event was also attended by the vice-president of the rayon, Valeriu Casap; the Primar of Donduseni, Ivan Belciug, kindergarten staff, parents and children. Children presented an artistic programme for their guests during this event.

The Deputy Head of the German Embassy in Moldova, Florian Seitz, deeply appreciated the host's invitation to attend the inauguration of the Donduseni kindergarten. "I came with pleasure and I am pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome. Today is the International Children’s Day, and it is not only in Moldova, but it is also in my country. I am convinced that the future of the Republic of Moldova is in the hands of the children, in the hands of the new generation, of young families, that is why we decided to improve the conditions in this kindergarten so that it meets modern standards. The project, within which framework the kindergarten was renovated, is very important for my country, Germany, and in total this project invests in the Republic of Moldova about 10 million euros. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and Germany. During this time, Germany has financially supported several projects, aimed at the development of Moldova," Florian Seitz said.
The "Luceafărul" kindergarten in Donduseni town was opened in 1982 and had a capacity of 300 children. Because of the lack of funds, the kindergarten was in a deplorable condition. Optimal conditions for children's health, education and development were created as the result of renovation works carried out in the kindergarten.

Mircea Esanu, the Executive Director of the Moldova Social Investment Fund, congratulated children on the International Children’s Day and thanked all those who were involved in the implementation of this project. "I am a father and I know how important is children's safety, care for children when they are in the kindergarten, when children get sick in a cold kindergarten or when it is raining in the kindergarten because of the leaking roof. These are the most important moments that we have tried to pay attention here,"Mircea Esanu said.
With the financial support of Germany, the roof of the kindergarten was changed, the thermal insulation of the building was implemented, new windows and doors were installed, the kitchen was renovated, lighting and ventilation systems were installed, and the yard in the kindergarten was paved.

Sergiu Gutu, the KfW Development Bank representative, said: "We had the opportunity to see that renovation works were carried out qualitatively and in time. Now we can safely say that this kindergarten meets all necessary conditions to offer a quality primary education in Donduseni town. We, the representatives of the KfW Bank, understand that each child has a potential that can be increased,. That is a talent that can be identified and appreciated. That is why KfW and MSIF have already implemented 210 projects, 106 of which are rehabilitating projects of schools and kindergartens."
The total value of the investment is about 130,000 euros (2,680,866 lei), 1,339,258 lei of which constitute the German grant, and 574,000 lei - the community contribution.
