The first public institution in Moldova, which will be built according to the German Passive House Standard, will be a kindergarten. The kindergarten, with a capacity of enrollment of about 100 children, will be put into operation in the spring of 2017 in the city of Calarasi. Kindergarten will have an area of 1100 square meters and its maintenance - heating, ventilation, water cooling and lighting will be comparable to an apartment with 3 rooms, i.e. the bill will not exceed on average 2,000 lei per month .
The project, which will take over the German practice and will be applied in our country, is carried out by the Moldova Social Investment Fund (MSIF) with the support of German KfW bank. The total cost of this construction is 1 million euros, the total amount of money have been allocated by the German donor.
As part of preparations for launching the construction MSIF recently organized a workshop for all those involved in the project: the architectural company, the construction company, engineers, and the beneficiary - Calarasi City Hall. The workshop was supported by German experts Ludwig Rongen and Günter Schlagowski, who coordinated the design of the kindergarten.

Opening the event, Executive Manager of the MSIF, Mircea Eşanu, said: "We organized this training to make clear all the details before starting the actual construction. The project is not simple, the equipment and techniques that will be used have never been applied in our country. German consultants have provided important recommendations on potential risks and errors that can occur at the very beginning of the construction of a passive house. Thus, we have ensured that all those involved exactly understand what they have to do, what materials to use, what kind of equipment and what coefficient to apply while carrying out calculations ".

"The idea is to minimize heat loss in the house during the summer. Thus, not too much resources will be needed for heating in winter. The temperature remains constant throughout the year also because of a controlled ventilation system. We warm up a passive house with its own heat, heat from technical equipment, from lights, computers, TV, "explained Ludwig Rongen.

The expert says that the application of Passive House standard is even more important when we talk about schools or kindergartens. The air in the classroom in such a building is always filtered and ventilated properly, the carbon dioxide does not accumulate, and pupils and teachers do not get tired so quickly.
