-------- On July 30, 2021, the PI MSIF team went to the kindergarten construction site in order to monitor the implementation schedule of the "Construction of kindergarten in the Berlinti village, Briceni rayon" subproject. Preschool children and teachers in this community will enjoy improved early education conditions thanks to the Technical and Financial Assistance Program provided by the Romanian Government.

Aspects related to the execution schedule of civil works, challenges that appear in the work process and measures to reduce risks have been addressed during the discussions with project beneficiaries and officials of the construction company. At the same time, it was found that civil works at the construction site are carried out in compliance with the protection measures against the spread of COVID-19 virus.

The cost of civil works is about 3,500,000 lei, 3 million lei of which have been provided by the Romanian Government and 500 thousand lei are provided by the Local public administration.

The implementation of the subproject will substantially contribute to creating access for about 50 preschool children in the community to conditions and facilities that are currently missing.

General information about the Program:

The list of subprojects was approved for financing of preschool institutions in the Republic of Moldova based on the ORDER no. 913 of April 10, 2014, issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania, on the publication of the Cooperation Program for 2014, concluded by exchange of letters, signed in Bucharest and Chisinau on April 9, 2014, on the basis of the Article 1 paragraph 2 of the Agreement between the Government Romania and the Government of the Republic of Moldova, regarding the implementation of the technical and financial assistance Program, based on a non-reimbursable financial aid amounting to 100 million euros, granted by Romania to the Republic of Moldova, signed in Bucharest on April 27, 2010.

The PI "Moldova Social Investment Fund" (MSIF) is designated as the entity responsible for preparation, implementation, ensuring the visibility and reporting on the Technical and Financial Assistance Program provided by the Government of Romania for preschool institutions in the Republic of Moldova by the Government Decision no. 436 of 10.06.2014 on the implementation of the Technical and Financial Assistance Program provided by the Government of Romania for preschool institutions in the Republic of Moldova.

Tranches of the Program in the period 2014 - 2019:

2014 - 20 million Euros (GD no. 436/2014) 

2015 - 3 million Euros allocated on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova of 14.11.2014 within framework of the "Increasing children's access and participation in early education in the Republic of Moldova" Project

2017 - 3 million Euros (GD no. 133/2017)

2019 - 3 million Euros (GD no. 28/2019)

A total of 29 million Euros were allocated by the Romanian Government. Over 1000 kindergartens in our country have been renovated and equipped with different categories of equipment and goods for these funds.
