Capital repair works worth over 3 million lei, including replacement of the roof, repair works inside the building and arrangement of the territory of the kindergarten have been carried out in the kindergarten "Andries" in Ungheni town.

"Until now, during 1 year and 2 months of program implementation, we managed to rehabilitate 524 kindergartens, that is about 75% of all preschool institutions that benefited from Romanian grant of 20 million euros. There are about 200 kindergartens in which roofs have been replaced, in 150 kindergartens heating systems have been replaced. 50 of these have been heated by stoves last winter. This means better heating for children, but also savings for budgets of local public authorities," Mircea Eşanu said, the Executive Manager of the MSIF.

In total over 200 thousand of people: children, parents, teachers and supporting staff, from  774 preschool institutions from Moldova have benefited from grant money, provided by the Romanian Government through MSIF, which means that the conditions in every second kindergarten in the country have been improved.

His Excellency, Mr. Marius Lazurca, the Ambassador of Romania, who attended the inauguration, said: "With the attention of the Moldova Social Investment Fund, driven with care and competence of Mr. Mircea Eşanu, about 75% of work commitments have been completed today and we hope that all works which have started will be completed by the end of the year. Good news, however, does not end. Recently, the Government of Romania has committed to support preschool education in the Republic of Moldova, announcing that soon a new amount of 5 million euros will be paid into the account of the same program."

The "Andries" kindergarten in Ungheni town is one of the 774 preschool institutions in the Republic of Moldova, which have benefited from the "Program of technical and financial assistance, provided by the Romanian Government for preschool institutions in the Republic of Moldova".
