---------With a scope of monitoring the implementation schedule of subprojects, today, June 28, 2021, the team of the Public Institution "Moldova Social Investment Fund" (PI MSIF) visited construction sites of subprojects "Civil works at the Theoretical Lyceum "Mihai Eminescu" in Anenii Noi town. and “Civil works at the “Ion Pelivan” Theoretical Lyceum in Razeni village, Ialoveni rayon, financed by the World Bank within Component A.2 of the “Moldova Education Reform” Project, managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Researches and implemented with technical assistance of the PI "Moldova Social Investment Fund".
During the visits, discussions were held with the project beneficiaries and the officials of the construction company regarding the execution schedule of civil works, challenges faced within the work process and regarding measures to reduce risks. At the same time, it was found that civil works at the site are carried out in compliance with the protection measures against the spread of COVID-19 virus.
The major overhaul of the 2nd and 3rd educational sections is undergoing in the “Mihai Eminescu” Theoretical Lyceum in Anenii Noi town, where about 1000 pupils, 99 teachers and auxiliary staff will study, work and enjoy quality conditions The roof reconstruction, replacement of joinery, interior and exterior repairs, replacement of heating and ventilation systems, internal water supply and sewerage networks, replacement of interior electrical wiring and electrical equipment, installation of fire alarms, replacement of external electrical networks, external water supply and sewerage networks are carried out as part of the subproject, as well as the improvement of the adjacent territory. The total cost of the works is 9,740,582 lei. The Contractor - S.C. "IMVOCOM-PRIM" S.R.L. Terms for the execution of work under the Agreement: 02/19/2020 - 08/15/2021.
As a result of the implementation of the “Civil works at the Theoretical Lyceum “Ion Pelivan” Subproject in Razeni village, Ialoveni rayon, about 900 students and 91 teachers and auxiliary staff will benefit from improved study and work conditions. The following types of works are performed at the lyceum: renovation of the heating system throughout the institution, renovation of the ventilation system in laboratories and bathroom units in section A, renovation of the internal water and sewerage networks throughout the institution, construction of the waste water treatment plant, renovation of interior electric wiring and electrical equipment in sections B and C, installation of fire and burglar alarm systems, repair of bathroom units in sections A, B and C, repair of all premises in sections B and C (floors, walls and ceilings), The cost of civil works is 9,144,380 lei . The "Moldova Education Reform" Project is a specific investment loan, granted by the World Bank, being implemented between April 2013 and April 2022, which supports the Government of the Republic of Moldova by financing activities that will improve the quality of education and lead to a more efficient education sector.
In total, 17 general educational institutions will be renovated within the Component A.2 of the "Moldova Education Reform" Project financed by the World Bank and managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, through the PI "Moldova Social Investment Fund". Currently, the PI MSIF monitors the development of renovation works performed in 5 educational institutions benefiting from investments, and which will be commissioned before the beginning of the new school year.
