
Iurie Chiorescu, the Executive Director of the Moldova Social Investment Fund, Iurie Chiorescu, accompanied by the World Bank Country Manager for Moldova based in Chisinau, Anna Akhalkatsi and the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECC), Igor Sarov, paid a working visit to the construction site of the "Alexandr Puskin" Theoretical High School in Ungheni. The institution is undergoing a major renovation process within the "Education Reform in Moldova" Project (PRIM), financed by the World Bank and implemented by MSIF and MECC.
Officials have found good mobilization of builders. Currently works are executed for 86% and will be completed in June of this year.
The Alexandru Pushkin Theoretical High School in Ungheni benefited from funds worth about 12 million lei. The financial means will be used for roof repair, thermal insulation of walls, electrical network repair, installation of new doors and windows, etc.
Iurie Chiorescu mentioned that within the "PRIM" Project, MSIF manages the repairs of 17 educational institutions in Moldova. Currently, there are five construction sites under development.
