
Today, August 20, 2020, the PI “Moldova Social Investment Fund” in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research organized an online meeting within component A.2 of the “Moldova Education Reform” Project financed by the World Bank, managed by Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and implemented by MSIF.
The event was attended by: Mr. Igor Sharov, the Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Mr. Sergiu Harea, the Project Coordinator, the PI MSIF management, mayors, directors of beneficiary educational institutions, representatives of construction companies and technical managers.
In his speech, Mr. Igor Sharov, the Minister of Education, Culture and Research, mentioned successes achieved during the implementation of the "Moldova Education Reform" Project, stating that the potential investments of the World Bank in the field of education in our country depend on the results and impact of this Project.
Further, beneficiaries and partners of the Project, participants in the event, discussed several aspects, such as the schedule of civil works, quality and volume of works executed, the Director of the PI FISM, Mr. Iurie Chiorescu, presented information on the percentage of volumes of civil works carried out at sities, which are undergoing renovation, emphasizing that works are carried out according to the schedule and in compliance with sanitary and epidemiological norms in the context of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
At the same time, during presentations, aspects of the Environmental Management Framework were approached, which is applied in the process of renovation of educational institutions carried out by the PI FISM within the Project.
Note: Within the Project, 17 general educational institutions are to be renovated, and the investment for each high school will amount to up to 700,000 US dollars.
Currently, PI MSIF monitors the development of renovation works carried out in 11 educational institutions benefiting from investments, renovation will be finalized until the beginning of the new schoolyear in 8 of them.
