On January 23, 2020, the Prime Minister, Ion Chicu, visited the "Vasile Alecsandri" Theoretical lyceum in Colibași village, Cahul rayon., There are 55 schoolteachers in lyceum teaching about 560 pupils in grades I-XII. The lyceum is attended by children from Colibași and neighboring villages - Vadul lui Isac, Brînza and Văleni. In Colibași village there are registered about 6 thousand inhabitants.
The lyceum building was built in 1964 and has not been renovated since that time. Currently, in the central section of the institution, capital repair works are being carried out with the support of FISM. The cost of the contract is 11.5 million lei. But in fact, about 3.5 million lei are necessary for the total modernization of the section. The renovation of the lyceum has to be completed in August 2020.
Local public authorities asked the Head of the Government to help identifying financial means necessary for the completion of civil works. "We are aware that education is a priority, we must do everything we can to identify necessary resources. We will register this case. We cannot admit leaving civil works to be executed in half,” the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister Chicu had a discussion at the Primaria with the local leadership and a group of councilors, during this discussion they addressed problems in the village and ways to solve them.
Earlier, on January 16, 2020, the team PI " Moldova Social Investment Fund" paid a monitoring visit to the construction site of the Theoretical lyceum "Vasile Alecsandri" in Colibași village, Cahul rayon. The institution is under the general overhaul within the framework of the "Education Reform in Moldova" Project funded by the World Bank, managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and implemented by the MSIF.
The following civil works are included in the project:
- replacing joinery articles,
- interior works (walls, ceilings, floors),
- exterior works (walls, railing, thresholds, escarps, canopies),
- the heating system,
- internal and external networks of water supply and sewerage,
- electricity supply networks,
- the ventilation system,
- security and fire alarm systems,
- construction of the thermal power plant and the external thermal networks,
- the wastewater treatment plant,
- spatial planning.
The total cost of sivil works constitutes 8 862 271.61 lei.
