The implementation of one of the most successful social projects - "Social Infrastructure and Energy Efficiency" (KfW) Project has been completed. The Project was launched in 2005 by the PI "Moldova Social Investment Fund" (PI MSIF) with the financial support of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany through KfW Bank.
The Project was implemented in three stages: KfW1 was destined for the South of the Republic. In total, 114 localities benefited from investments in social infrastructure, and the total KfW1 budget was over 81 million lei; KfW2 has been implemented in the North of the country. 96 localities benefited from social investments in the total amount of over 148 million lei there; in March 2018, KfW3 was launched, thanks to which another 25 localities from the entire territory of the Republic of Moldova benefited from social investments worth over 47 million lei.
In total, almost 400 thousand citizens of the Republic of Moldova became direct beneficiaries of the KfW Project.
UNIMEDIA discussed with the Ambassador of Germany to the Republic of Moldova, Angela Ganinnger, the Director of the PI “Moldova Social Investment Fund”, Iurie Chiorescu, and the Head of KfW in the Republic of Moldova, Sergiu Guţu, about the impact of this project, but also about perspectives.
