On November 10-11, 5 documentation visits were organized during the World Bank's online monitoring mission with the scope to estimate the level of renovation works financed under Component A.2 of the "Moldova Education Reform" Project financed by the World Bank, managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and implemented with the technical assistance of the PI "Moldova Social Investment Fund”. Visits have been made to the following sites:
1. TL “M. Eminescu”in Straseni town
2. TL “ Alecu Russo” in Cojusna village, Straseni rayon
3. TL "P.Rares" in Soroca town
4. TL “A. Agapie” in Pepeni village, Singerei rayon
5. LT " M. Eminescu" in Telenesti town.
The visits were assisted by the physical presence of the PI MSIF team at sites.
Mayors of localities, directors of lyceums, representatives of Territorial Education Directorates, technical managers and representatives of construction companies participated in discussions on behalf of beneficiaries.
Representatives of the World Bank and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, participated in meetings with beneficiaries via videoconference because of the specific situation, caused by the COVID 19 pandemic.
Aspects related to the quality of volumes of works performed by contractors, the observance of the Environmental Management framework were approached during field visits. Also, beneficiaries of the Project, participants in discussions, mentioned the great impact that implemented projects have on their community, benefits and perspectives of the project development with a scope of ensuring the sustainability of obtained results.
In total, 17 district educational institutions will be renovated within the Component A.2 of the "Moldova Education Reform" Project financed by the World Bank and managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, through the PI "Moldova Social Investment Fund". At the moment 10 projects are finalized, and 7 are at different stages of the renovation process.
